2020 Grievance Hearings Minutes and Results

The 2020 Grievance hearings were held remotely in accordance with the State of Vermont’s guidelines for municipalities to conduct public meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The platform used by the Board of Listers was Microsoft Teams, the Town of Hartland’s preferred software provider.  These hearings were recorded.  For info on how to access these recordings, please go to the Listers’ web page located at http://hartland.govoffice.com.  The Chair of the Board of Listers, Doug Linnell, presided over all the hearings but the last one. Lister Stacey Bradley was present for the all the grievance hearings.  Lister Craig Smith was present only for the first hearing.  All three listers participated in all the Grievance site inspections.

The hearings were called to order at 8:53 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.  At the start of each hearing, the procedure on how to conduct the remote hearings was read by Chair Doug Linnell and as well as verifying that each property owner or representative had received the information on how the remote hearings were to be conducted and what to do and who to contact in case of technical difficulties. Introductions as to who was present at each individual hearing were noted for the record.  No members of the public joined to view or listen at any time during the grievance hearings. A total of twenty-five (25) property owners grieved their property values this year.  Exterior only site visits for properties where it was deemed necessary were conducted on Monday, June 22nd.   Click on the link below to read the minutes and results report.
