Land Records
Hartland Town Clerk's Office fees will be as follows:
Document Recording: $15 per pageProperty Transfer Tax Return: $15 per document
Survey Plat Recording (MyLar): $25 per sheet
Certified Copies of Records: $10 per page
Vault Time: $4 per hour

Land records are available for public research and are accessible in-person and online.
In-person records access:
- Records are available for viewing during office hours Monday-Thursday 8AM-4PM and Friday 8AM-12PM
- We are open to 2 people at a time
- Appointments are requested for records searches
- Beyond the first 30 minutes, a charge of $4.00 per hour will be assessed
- Copies of recorded documents are available for $1.00 per page (this includes electronic copies such as emails, photographs, or scans)
Certificate of Name Change:
- If you are changing your legal name, please fill out this certificate of name change form and submit it to the Town Clerk's Office with $15 for recording fees. The form can be downloaded here
Online records access:
- Currently our online records go back to Book 76 2/4/1988, anything prior to that will need to be researched in-person
- Online records are accessible at Hartland VT RecordHub
- Please review the instructions for creating an account via the link at the bottom of this page
- **Please let us know if you notice any errors or if a document is not viewable**
Document requests via email:
- Before requesting documents via email, we encourage you to schedule an appointment to visit us in person.
- Documents sent via email will be assessed a fee of $1 per recorded document
- We will not email documents until we have received payment
Mobile Home Bill of Sale books are now available in COTTS.
Mobile Home Bills of Sale are accessible via COTTs and can be located by searching using the party’s name, address, or the book and page number. If searching by book and page, a Bill of Sale recorded in book 4, page 20, can be located by typing mhb4 for book and 20 for page in the search bar. Another example would be book 3, page 6, which would be entered as mhb3 for book and 6 for page in the search bar.
Mylar maps (1970-Present) are now available on COTTS.
Mylars dated 1970 to present are accessible via COTTs and can be located by searching using the party’s name, address, or the book and page number. If searching by book and page, a survey recorded in map book 5, page 21, can be located by typing F-5 for book and 21 for page in the search bar. Another example would be File 1, map 1234, which would be entered as F-1 for book and 1234 for page in the search bar
Mylars recorded prior to 1970 must be research in our vault.
